1. Information we collect
We collect only the information required to process and ship your order: your name, shipping address, email address, and order history. We never ask for — or store — government identification, social security numbers, or financial account details beyond what our payment processors require.
Browsing data (pages visited, device type, approximate region) is collected in aggregate, anonymized form to improve the store experience. We do not build individual behavioral profiles.
2. How your information is used
Order data is used exclusively to fulfil your purchase, send tracking updates, and respond to support requests. If you subscribe to our newsletter, your email is used to send discount codes and educational content — one short email per week, with one-click unsubscribe in every message.
We never sell, rent, or share customer data with third parties for marketing purposes. Period.
3. Data retention & deletion
Order records are retained for 12 months for support and warranty purposes, then permanently purged. You may request complete deletion of your data at any time by emailing support@northstarmushrooms.com — we process deletion requests within 72 hours.
4. Discretion & packaging
Privacy extends to the physical world. Every order ships in plain, unmarked packaging with a generic business return address. Nothing on the outside — or on your bank statement — indicates the contents of your order.
5. Cookies
We use a single first-party cookie to keep your cart contents between visits. We do not use third-party advertising trackers, social media pixels, or cross-site tracking technologies.
6. Security
All traffic is encrypted in transit via TLS. Order data is stored on access-controlled infrastructure with encryption at rest. Access to customer information is limited to the support staff who need it to fulfil your order.
